Suitable for those who like to challenge the limit. Backcountry skiing is done on unmarked slopes outside the ski resort area. Since this type of skiing takes place in the more remote parts of the mountain, skiers must climb uphill before descending again. In other words, there is no elevator to get you where you want to go. There is an increased risk of avalanches while skiing in backcountry. Widely considered the snowboard world’s worst nightmare, the button lift consists of a disc at the end of an extension rod attached to a moving wire. The skier sits on a disc with his legs on either side of a pole and is dragged to the top of the slope. These lifts are a simple and effective way to get people back to the pistes.
